Oh nO our cable TV went out!

The cable company disconnected it and said
we had to pay to get cable TV. Now I have
heard everything.

At first we panikced and got heart papiltations.
Then we almost called up the cable company and
got it hooked up legal. Then we decided to wait
on that and seee how it goes a day at a time.

Oh my God I got so hard up for distraction
from this mortal coil that I watched ALIAS!
I watched that Hollywood Wives movie! If I
ever watch Here Comes Raymond Everybody please
unplug my life support system.

... But anyway so what? After three days with no
cable TV, I don't get what the big deal is? We'll
go to the neighbors to watch the debate Sunday but
other than that so what? Guess how much I miss
cnnmsnbcfuax? Answer: nil, Bill.

Do you freak your geek thinking of having
no cable or are you a tough guy like me
that knows what living in the wilderness
of regular TV is all about and like it just
fine?

Maybe you and your neighbors could turn off
your cable TV and go to the pond or rink or
build one and get some canes or somethiong
and have a real live hockey game knocking
the puck around. I've found that when there's
nothing on 2457911or13 if I get off my can and go
outside and see what kind of trouble I can get
in with human people it's a lot better. This
morning I arranged a waffle cookout among the
wastrels that I call neighbors and it wasn't
exactly a carnival but it was interesting
in a Waiting for Godot kind of way. Just a
suggestion.

Although it wasn't the worst day in German TV history, there were some excellent reasons to entertain the thought of trashing the TV set (especially the autumn fest of Polka). Why she decided to use her second set later is beyond me :shrug: .

7. I think you should only have to pay

for however much time you watch it. That's
how it is for water and gas and eletric. They
should have a meter telling them how many hours
you watch.... I don't even miss it to tell you the
truth. It's like some girl friend you think you
can't live without and then she leaves you for
some bum and you freak out and beg her to come
back and leave suicide notes nailgunned to her door
and then the next day you wake up and it's like
what's that weird sound that sounds like peace
and sanity?

I could tell the CSR was a little puzzled as to why somebody would want a cable modem but not their 100 channels of pure purile bullshit, but they did confirm that I could have the web w/o the crap...

If my landline goes up any more (it's now $35 a month) the cable modem will become cost-effective.

The local REMC offers wireless internet, $200 for the radio and antenna, $80 a month for 10 Mb speed...

14. Wish mine would go out

The only show I care about on cable is Six Feet Under on HBO. Most of the time, TV is boring and the movie channels just show the same things over and over (and most you can rent for free at the library anyway). Our cable bill is $94 a month(!!!) and it's all about sports (which isn't my thing).

I'm sorry though about yours. Network TV is even worse.

17. The only cable show I liked was Curb Your Enthusiasm

on HBO and 24-hour-a-day Wacky Police Chases on FX.
I used to like Street Time on Showtime but it has
turned into a mess. Also I like that commercial
with the guy at the counter of some airline where he
has the computer readout of what he's suppose to say
to customers, things like Greetings Miss Colon, backslash
