Men who wear suits, please answer my question!!
Watching The Guardian and noticing at work that suddenly blue shirts are in. When did this happen? I'm a woman, never wear shirt and tie - but when did blue become the new white? Or am I being totally wrong here?

2. It's a "cool" thing to do
to wear blue, dark blue, red, etc. white is seen as old fashioned in some circles

To white shirt. Shirt colors have been "IN" for years. Blue, yellow grey even pink for some. Ugh on just white.

13. Not sure the store he works at only sells men's
But he is awsome...this guy, you have to make an appointment to see him, he is that good. Once I just showed up..waited 45 minutes. He knows everyting, never makes a mistake, you always look awsome when you leave. And you look in your bag and think, "Shit I bought a belt" but it's all good.

14. Not a man, but....
When a man at my office wears a suit -- especially with a white shirt -- we always ask if it is a job interview or a funeral. Pastel colored shirts are great.

15. A lot of the men at the places I work wear blue shirts
but the bright or dark-coloured shirts with ties in the same or an incredibly similar shade are even more popular.

16. Having worn them both here and in Europe...
...I've noticed that American execs (at least Midwestern ones) tend to wear white shirts, while Europeans tend to wear colored (especially blue) shirts. Think Savile Row. Personally, I favor solid blues, or blue or lavender patterns, especially gingham checks. Morley Safer does, too, by the way!

By the way, as I'm sure you all know, you should never wear a button-down shirt with a suit!

So, I'm "outed." Sigh. There goes my 'librul' street cred... Actually, as a 'creative,' I only have to wear suits for client meetings and agency events, thank god. Normally, I sport jeans and a Lacoste shirt or polo-neck sweater. I'm a dandy; what can I say?

17. I'm known to wear a suit
Edited on Tue Oct-21-03 09:10 PM by 5thGenDemocrat
My favorite one (I have several) is a mossy grey-green. And I wear a pink shirt (and, usually, one of my silk Jerry Garcia ties) with it.
John
I've never had a "librul street cred." To make matters worse, I also have Izod (gator) shirts in just about every color possible and I wear them with the color up -- like my preppy friends I worked with on Mackinac Island taught me to do.
Open Fire!!
