Let us now sing praises to the .......grilled cheese sandwich
golden brown, gooey, sticky melted cheese. American, Swiss, Cheddar, all combined into a culinary sensation, add french fries, a coke, what better noontime repast can there be.
When I was in sixth grade the lunch ladies made the best grilled cheeses, they would give us a bunch in a brown paper bag, stained with butter to eat on the playground.
They were so good, damn I'm hungry and I know whats for lunch.

19. Yuppie...who uses Gruyere
on a grilled cheese?

It should be American (with at least 30 preservatives), Wonder Bread, and butter.

5. Grilled cheese cooked on an iron!!!!
When I was living in the dorms, we were not allowed to have cooking implements. No hot plates, no microwaves, nothing! But, we could have refrigerators (the small ones) and other food. So, sometimes, we'd get the hankering for some hot food. We'd cook grilled cheese sandwiches on our irons! :9

Oh, have you ever made grilled cheese with "the Government cheese"? That USDA Commodity Cheese was THE BEST for sandwiches!

My Grandma got gov`t cheese, and I loved it.
Kraft sells a 10 lb block of sliced cheese that is very close to gov`t cheese.

11. Thanks- now I'm even hungrier.
Is "hungrier" even a word? Should I have said "more hungry?" Anyway, I do love grilled cheese. It is the only time I appreciate American cheese slices. Yum yum.
