Regarding the John Titor fictions
I just realized something. Titor's "future worldline" society is not at all unlike that of the octospiders in Clarke's Rama series, as described in Titor's writings and Rama Revealed by Arthur C. Clarke.

In each, unproductive members of the society- or, in the octo's case, those with a negative assessment of contribution- are terminated: in Titor's case, via banishment; for the octos, actual termination.

I wonder if that's where Titor got the idea....

1. Whoever John Titor actually was...
He was definitely some kind of militia/right wing/tax-obsessed type of guy. Winger all the way. Total bullshit. Time travel cannot happen, people!
