in re to everything having to do with politics and government.
I don't even know why I am posting about this. Just want to share and see if anyone else is as cynical as me.
I am afraid that cynicism taken too far leads to apathy.
When I watch the New Hour with Leher, I roll my eyes no matter who is talking. Like watching the news piece on the DC appellate judge nomination of Brown. Everything is orchestrated (by Mr. Hatch)....and Dem Durbin speaks out about a little of this or that that causes him problems, and I just think....short of a filibuster, this lady is going up to the appellate court.
Why even go through the congressional motions on anything? The bush/pnac plan is has been implemented 100% and will continue until we take the government back.
So, let's say we take the white house in 2004 -- are all these dems who have been rolling over even interested in the dem platform and fighting for justice?
I am disheartened. I had a conversation with an intelligent person last night about global warming. He was all, "well, there isn't ABSOLUTE proof that petrochemicals cause it." And I'm like..."well, jesus, if there's a 10% chance that it does cause degeneration of the ozone layer, shouldn't we at least TRY? And given our petro supplies are 15 years away from exhaustion......shouldn't we try to both save the ozone and find alternative fuel?"
I am afraid that Darwin didn't finish his work. Sure, survival of the fittest. But he obviously didn't get the full circle of the nature of man: meaning, man obviously wants to survive but eventually implodes into self-destruction.
