Nervous as a couch potato in Morgantown West By Gawd!
I watched the best ballgame I ever watched in my life last night! The Zebras cheated or the Mountaineers would have shut VA Tech out completely! Beamer headslapped his own player! Frank forgot they outlawed the headslap years ago on the football field! Couches were burning untill the wee hours, as the WV Stats Politzi Gased the crowd! The goalposts are removed for their own protection! And a general large time wuz had by all!

Sorry I missed 'Bloody Maw Bush' on Larry King last night, but I had better thangs to do! Maw Bush and the Creepy Cheney gang are robbing everyone in America and expecting us to like it?

1. I watched the game

you were nervous? Virginia Tech was out of it for awhile. But when your team only gets 3 days to prepare for a game you will struggle, at least they will have 9 days to prepare for Miami.

5. VT 65 yard rushing WVU 264 and the 'eers beat Tech at their own game
Rushing and field position. I just watched the highlights but that 93 yard pass was a coffin nail in Beamer Ball. They play for filed position and winning on the kicking game, they were in prime position to make a run and the safety bit on the play action.

I usually root for Tech as long as the aren't playing UVa and I wash shocked at the score.

6. It was not the nail in the coffin
the 93 yard pass put West Virginia up 21-7 with 10 minutes in the 3rd quarter left. There was plenty of time for Virginia Tech to score 2 touchdowns and tie the game.

10. Well it definitely wasn't according to the tried and true plan
Yeah there was a lot of time left but that is a situation I have seen VT take full advantage of time and time again. VT doesn't have the highpowered offense (since the elder Vick left) to come back from 2+ touchdown deficits. It's not really their gameplan. They had to be expecting to go on a roll there, they have before.

11. They do have the high power offense to kick it in gear
But in reality it wasn't the nail in the coffin because you have plenty of time to score 2 touchdowns in 25 minutes. But I watched Virginia Tech against UCF, Texas A&M, and Syracuse and didn't think anyone could stop their offense. Bryan Randall is a great quarterback for Virginia Tech but had a bad game. They sure as hell didn't run the ball with Kevin Jones a whole lot and he is a big part of that offense but there were alot of times when recievers dropped 3rd down passes it was a horrible all around effort but they were not playing V Tech football. But they do have the offense to come from behind 2 touchdowns in 25 minutes, but just because they didn't doesn't mean they can't do it.

13. But it usually results from the kicking game
against strong opponents that is. Against the lesser weights (save for Temple a few years back) they don't really need it but in the BIG games they use field position and mistakes in the kicking game to set up short drives. That's Beamer Ball.

15. VTs Defense was not making the tackles either!
I've see better defensive play out of VT in years gone by! The last year Major Harris played at WV, VT demolished the Mountaineers! I sat on the 50 yard line and watched VT eat Major Harris Alive that day! Very few defensive teams shut Harris down but VT contained him all day long that day! So, after watching VT derail WV for so many years it felt SOOOOOOO good to watch the last two VT/WV games! A Great Goin' Away Present I Thought, a real lesson for VT!(never misunderestimate) I can't wait for the BC game!

8. VT got a gift from the Zebras and still got whipped!
I couldn't believe it either! VT was expected to win by 2 TDs! I was a shocker indeed! Frank Beamer blew up! Great play on both sides of the ball from WV! The local news is showing all kinds of free for alls in Morgantown last night after the game! Trick Or Treat Mountie style!

9. A gift?
V tech got penalized more then West Virginia. If you are talking about the fumble, unfortanetly there is not instant replay in college football and anyone can easily make the mistake. Of course you had the benefit of sitting at home and watching the replay in several different angles, but the refs were hardly giving V Tech a gift.

12. That's your opinion!
Everybody has one!

I think organized gambling may play a role in college football! I think also, that if a crook wanted to skew the outcome of a game the officials would be the perfect ones to bribe! The official that made that 'Bad Call' had the best seat in the house and still blew it! Even Frank Beamer thought it was a questionable call! 60,000 fans thought it was a bad call! Every sportscaster I've heard speak of the call agreed with the fans!

14. Why wasn't holding called on the 93 yard touchdown pass?
Let me say again V Tech was penalized more then West Virginia. It would be a more fair comparison that the referees were cheating by penalizing Arizona State 16 times and penalizing North Carolina only 3 times, but I didn't see the game on TV so I don't know if the Referees blantantly made bad calls.
