Paw REALLY knows what OSB costs now!

About five this afternoon, a man called me asking the price of 3/4" OSB ($19.99) and 12-foot drywall ($10.95). After I gave each price, the man yelled out "Paw! It's //fill in the price//!"

Ten minutes later, someone else called asking the prices of the same two items...and after each one, yelled out "Paw! It's //fill in the price//!"

This happened six times in the space of five minutes.

On the seventh call, the person asked for the price of 3/4" OSB and I supplied her with both prices. "How'd y'all know I needed that too?" 'Oh, because six other members of your family have called and asked for those two prices."

Turns out Paw has got early-stage Alzheimer's and forgets he's asked his whole family for the same thing--which has led to such slightly comic events as five or six family members meeting at the supermarket all with a gallon of milk in their carts because Paw drank up all the milk and sent them to the store one by one.

I told the lady how to solve her problem, and she liked it. Next time Paw decides to build something, call the store and get all the prices. Be sure to write them down on a paper and leave it by the phone. Then every time Paw has someone else call the store for prices, they just "call the Home Depot" with their finger on the button and read the prices off the paper by the phone. It will be much quicker.
