October 16, 2003 -- BATTLING disappointing ratings and waning viewer interest, the flood waters just keep rising for Rob Lowe's high-profile legal drama, "The Lyon's Den."

NBC has been dismayed by "The Lyon's Den's" declining ratings and the fact that it's been regularly beaten on Sunday by "The Practice."

"Lyon's Den" was designed as a slick legal series brimming with conspiracy, and as star vehicle to showcase Lowe - who plays an idealistic lawyer pulled into a web of intrigue at a high profile D.C. law firm.
Lowe got the job after leaving "West Wing" -a move many considered to be career suicide.

They say Lowe considered himself and Martin Sheen the stars of the show, and that he expected to be paid as much as Sheen.

I loved him on TWW. I understand his anger when he didn't get a raise. BUT, he's not ready for a starring role in a prime-time drama just yet. Swallow yer pride, Rob, and try to scam a couple of walk-on cameos on TWW.

Hell, Larry O'Donnell's "Mr. Sterling" was better than his crummy show!

5. Rob Lowe projects a flat, boring personality..Martin Sheen is ALIVE!

In my opinion it would have to be a fantastically written vehicle (which it isn't) to be a winner for Lowe....He vastly overrates his own importance!...Sheen could make even a mediocre show presentable because of his "presence"...IMO

6. Rob lowe story.

My buddy was walking down the street and saw Rob coming at him in the opposite direction..... he says, "What's up Rob Lowe?" Lowe says "Not much Man" and hi-fives him...they didn't even slow down...they were walking past each other the whole time...the mental picture of that in my head makes me laugh.

8. Bonehead Career Move

Here's a guy who was a persona non grata in Hollywood for the better part of a decade -- a has-been more famous for his imfamous home video with a teenage at the 1986 Democratic convention than anything else.

Aaron Sorkin comes along and puts him back on primetime television in a role that most actors would kill for, and Lowe leaves the show because he wants a salary that in a larger six-figure range.

Honestly. What a dope.
