What does Murdoch own, DirectTV or The Dish or are they the same thing? Thanks everyone!

he owns Direct TV, but has recently aquired Dish network. He also owns SKY in Australia and in the UK and he's a twat of the highest order and therefore I refuse to subscribe to the only digital satellite service in the UK, much to my annoyance.

I think that there's moves afoot to sell it to News Corp. (Murdochs gangrenous media company.)

5. Much to my shame

I give the mofo cash to the tune of €56 a month.

I'm 650 miles away from "home" so this is the only way I can see my beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers FC on TV. First year in the Prem, no way in hell am I going to miss it.

Nevermind the fact that German TV has gone down the shitter so quick the past few years...I mean who are the sad bastards who watch people doing DIY on their kitchens in a so-called docu-soap? Shit, you kearn 100x as much from UK-Style.

6. Murdoch owns neither - yet

DirecTV is owned by Hughes Electronics, a subsidiary of GM. A couple of years ago, EchoStar (the owner of DishNetwork) was going to merge with Hughes, but that deal fell through. EchoStar, and therefore DishNetwork, is still independent.

More recently, NewsCorp has been trying to work a deal to buy DirecTV. (I'm not sure if it's just DTV or all of Hughes.) Nothing is final on this, but it's expected to go through at some point.

He owns Fox and FoxNews through NewsCorp, dozens of newspapers worldwide, and is TRYING to buy DTV, but AFAIK, Dish is still independent.

8. Reminder - Murdoch was negotiating with the Chinese to

invest in their telecommunications system at the same time that the US killed (accidentally) a bunch of Chinese engineers trying to establish a telecommunications network in northern Iraq.
