As part of their tribute to the 2000 Olympics, CNBC had a reporter in Asia discussing the markets. One day, I saw him allude to the US auto industry, and he talked about 'Michiganites.' Why I remember that, I have not a clue.

3. I've only been here since 1995

and I hear gander more often than I hear ganian. I like the way gander sounds, but then I am a birdlover.

Some natives of this state (!) get very sensitive about this subject, though.
