Have your co-workers ever given YOU the finger?
Mine has. :eyes:

What an infantile, childish, stupid thing to do. Management where I am are too weak to do anything about anything she does (she has a history) because she's cried discrimination before, and quite frankly, don't think they would even care.

I have to work with this stupid fool. People KNOW what she's like, with her Jekyl and Hyde personality, but kind of "accept" that's what she's like.

Oh well, ain't life grand. I'm just tired of this sh*t.

end of rant... :(

1. One of my coworkers called me a liberal Nazi and
invited me to fight him in the parking lot. I laughed in his face. You see, he teaches political science and doesn't even see the contradiction between "liberal" and "Nazi." We know who the Nazi is.

2. Don't know if she gave me the finger
I've seen an ex-co-worker of mine twice give the finger behind the backs of some very nice people, though.

She used to verbally rip people, and hit me on an off day. I verbally eviserated her (after two years of her abusive shit) so badly she began crying.

Nice as pie to my face after that.

5. My boss did once.
I pawned a really shitty project off on him once. I knew it was an awful project, but I also knew I didn't have time for it and he probably did. He took it home one weekend and gave me the finger monday morning. :D

in the workplace and I'm sorry that happened to you. I guess the only thing left for you to do is what you're doing and to rise above it. For heavens sake, don't fall to her level. Just cause she's an asshole doesn't mean you have to become one.

And besides - you got US! And WE love ya!! So there!!

7. Hey...look at it this way..
At least you don't have a co-worker muttering "shut the fuck up or I'll cut your throat" kind of crap every time you ask them to get back to work.
I did.
Management wouldn't fire him.
So I quit.

9. If she does it to your face,
then say something to her, calmly and quietly, such as, "Well, that was infantile. What exactly are you so upset about?"

Most people will back off if you show you're not intimidated and you refuse to get worked up about it. The ability to raise a single eyebrow is a skill beyond price in situations like this.

10. Workplace whackoes...
I have worked with:

neo-Nazi...

woman who would go to lunch and then come back and hide for the rest of the day in her car in the hot parking lot. Once the people in charge had to call her minister to come minister to her...

An extremely large and weird Ph.D who sexually harassed some women until he was threatened by a husband with being shot to death after work if he did not ceast and desist (which he did at that point)...

numerous drunks/ drug addicts drunk and stoned at work (and who were usually a hoot)...

co-workers who twice threatened to wait outside for a patron to "beat the shit" out of them for being rude to them in the building...

one serial killer...now on death row...

and a few more people who make you wonder about reality...

So the finger-shooter was one of the milder personality disordered persons whom I had the displeasure of working with.

14. I have given people the finger many times a work
Mostly customers though ;-).... seriously yeah I did all the time while working a landscaping job. But that's to be expected in that environment. As for the office...no, never.

17. Never seriously, no.
Which is probably just as well. I'd haul my boss's arses into court and make them answer to a legal representative for making me work in a harassing work environment while taking no steps to remedy the situation.
