with my condition, I have the choice of taking Immuno-suppressants or steroids to battle it, or pain-killers and an altered diet to deal with it.
I choose the pain-killer route, as the others can have oodles of side-effects that are worse than the disease.

That killed Gordon Jump a couple of months ago -- pulmonary fibrosis. Sorry -- just emptying out the detritus in my head. I knew Jerry Lewis was on steroids for treatment of something, but I didn't know it was this. It does take guts for him to keep going, you're absolutely right.

My partner's mom takes it for lung problems and it causes heavy fluid retention. She's normally tiny but it makes her swell awfully. Last time I saw Jerry it nearly broke my heart.
