who made fun of my name. I had to go to the principal's office.

Still glad I did it.

4. Oh yeah....
it was the third grade there was this girl who I couldn't stand. I told her I was gonna beat her up after school. I was about 6 inches taller than she, but, she kicked my ass in no time at all.

It was my first and last fight.

5. I only got into a fight once.
I was seven years old, and I was supposed to be looking after my two-year-old brother, who was playing in the front yard.

The neighbor boy was six. He came over and started teasing my brother, taking his toys and holding them above his head where my brother couldn't reach them. The kid was only TWO! He started to cry, and when I heard my brother cry and saw that kid teasing him, I saw red. I got so angry I didn't stop to think. I ran right up to that kid, surprised him, and knocked him over. I sat on his chest and pinned his arms with my knees. And I made him eat a handful of dirt.

I have never done anything like that since.

6. My 1st grade sister insulted a 3rd or 4th grade boy. He was yelling
at her. I took him down brilliantly according to family lore... I was a 2nd grader and remember virtually none of it. I do remember lots of kids being really cool to me the next week. I vaguely remember the boys face. I remember seeing a fleeting tortured expression.

I've always been quite strong for a female.

11. Not actually a fist fight but the first time I ever hit back
This girl kept hitting on me in college - punching me, slapping me, etc. One day I had enough, I grabbed her shirt, slammed her against a wall and said "You will never touch me again. Ever. Do you understand?"

She didn't ever again and though we were never friends we were able to be civil to each other in the same social circle. Still kinda feel bad about it, but I tried everything else I could think of.

I've more often been beaten up than fought back.

Khash.

12. In jr. high, in gym, i decked a bully who had been picking on me-
Edited on Sun May-08-05 12:43 AM by LiberallyInclined
I went to a parochial school for grades k-6, and then spent two years at a public jr.high before going to a lutheran high school(mostly to get away from the bullies).
i was a little overweight, intelligent, but not very attractive- and with a deformed hand, and braces on my teethe to boot...we had just moved to the other side of town, so i knew almost nobody who went to the school- i was instantly a target...but i was smart, and i was usually able to elude them to get myself home after school.
one day in gym, one of them took the basketball i was shooting(it was before the class actually started, we were all in the gym in our gymsuits, waiting for the instructor.
when randy took the ball, something snapped- and i took a roundhouse kind of swing at him, and connected solidly with his mouth and cheek..he had this really surprised look on his face as he spun around once- his knees buckled and he collapsed on the floor- i knocked the motherfucker out! and with the first 'real' punch i had ever taken at anyone in my life...
then i found out the downside of throwing a punch and connecting- my hand(the deformed one) swelled up like a grapefruit- i had busted a vein in my hand- it hurt for quite a while.
btw- they never were able to catch me or catch up with me- at age 44 i have yet to be on the recieving end of a fist thrown in anger(although i have landed a few more in the interim.)

btw- that gym instructor i mentioned was later convicted for making porno movies with some of the girls in my class, and this was before vhs.

13. I was in 1st grade.
A big kid, 5th or 6th grade, was kicking my school books around. I told him to stop, and he told me to fuck off. So I wailed into him. Then he beat me up.
However, I later found that he never lived it down. Not only did he get shit for beating up a 1st grader but that he couldn't even back one down.
Let that be a lesson to all bullies.

He seemed strangely impressed, and introduced me to all his friends.

Not much of a fight, anyway.

I think this happened in Grade 4.

17. I've really only had 1 fist fight my whole life
Not counting those with my brother when we were growing up...

but, I was at a friend's birthday party in 2nd or 3rd grade and this kid kept bothering me & picking on me. So, I finally turned around & jumped on him & pounded the crap out of him. He got up and cried and ran home.

18. well... I've had many "wrestle fights" but only one fist fight
much of the school was grateful.
This jackass kid was talking shit about my sisters medical condition... and despite just having gotten out of a wheelchair due to a spinal problem a month earlier (and being in a backbrace) I got so fucking angry... and just whaled on him... I would guess that at least 200 students ran over to see wtf was going on... and then they were all cheering as this kid is a known tool. Suprisingly, no teachers saw... and I just beat the shit out of him.

It felt kinda good actually.

26. that sucks!
The scariest thing in the world is how a pack of humans (or dogs, or whatevers) can suddenly single out one of them, and then all at once turn on that individual.

It's a wonder that anybody trusts anyone else.

27. one lured me to the park under the guise of ending the tense times
we were having. when i got there, three of them jumped out of the bushes, and they all pounded on me.

the bigger betrayal, as i think about it, was from my mother, who made me go to school the next day and didn't call their parents to tell them!

my daughter was assaulted on the school bus when she was 12. i filed charges! my mother did nothing.

sounds like a pity party, but i hadn't thought about this in years until this post! middle schoolers can be awful to their peers. those are the worst years.

24. 1st I remember was in 2nd grade
My friends and I were at the school playground after school. This one kid wouldn't leave us alone. He pissed us off every day, wanting to play with us, and threw temper tantrums when we said no. He followed us for 20 minutes as we tried to get away from him. I decided that was enough, and one of my friends held him down on the slide, and I started wailing on him.

30. I never learned to fight back,
I received a black eye in 4th grade from a 6th grader who had stolen our 4-square ball. When I was in 6th grade a boy beat the tar out of me. In that case, I had called him a cry baby..he'd just taught me how to play chess and I won and he cried. I wasn't allowed to cry..used to get slapped for crying..so I called him a cry baby. He wailed the hell out of me.

32. 4th Grade
A schoolyard bully pushed my brother down on the playground and his face was all skinned up. I confronted the bully on the way home from school and whipped him pretty bad. Not bad for a girl :) Funny thing was that "bully" laughed and talked about the incident all the time when we got older, all about the day I whupped his butt for messing with my brother at recess. We ended up being pretty good friends but frankly, I think it was cause he was scared of me. ;-)
