2. Red Skelton, followed by
Danny Kaye -- not really a stand-up, but hysterically funny, nonetheless.

Totie seemed to break a lot of ground for the likes of O'Donnell and Roseanne Barr. I remember her being on Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas as well as the occasional Tonight Show that i stayed up late enough to watch. She always made me laugh.

I understand her Vegas act used to have them rolling in the aisles.

18. Myron Cohen was great! A favorite joke of his:
Two fellas are sitting in the park.
One says "I can get you an elephant for $200
The other says "What am i gonna do with an elephant? I live in a tiny apartment. I aint got room for a chihuahua pup. WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITH AN ELEPHANT?
The other says "He'll hang your hat for you. High. Eats peanuts. He'll press your pants for ya. I can get you an elephant for two hundred dollars"
WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITH AN ELEPHANT?
I can get you TWO elephants for three hundred dollars"
The fella says

"NOW your talking"

We had one of Myrons albums. Some of the best Jewish humor/jokes ever!

He used to be on all of the talk shows a lot. I don't knoe if he's still alive. It was a stupid kind of act, but I thought he was funny as hell.

32. Callas was a genius...
Lots of comedy is "a stupid kind of act"... the main question is, did he make you laugh?...
Haven't heard his name in ages... he was cool...

38. I love Jonathan Winters
I actually saw the great man in the flesh in Santa Barbara a couple of weeks ago hanging out in an open-air Indian bazaar on State Street. I acted very cool like I didn't see him there, but I was thrilled nonetheless.
