I just got interviewed by the AP! (OR: My "oh crap" moment)

Not for campaign purposes, but because of my actual job.

I write about the cleaning industry, and the reporter called me for background on the whole Wal-Mart/immigration thing.

When talking to the press, I have a very bad habit of talking for 30 seconds longer than I know I should (but doing it anyway). As a journalist, I should know better, but I don't.

Because of this, I always regret it afterword. I always freak out after talking to the press. That's kind of what I'm doing now.

I hope I don't come off too stupid in the article (if it ever sees the light of day).

3. Yeah...Congrats. Reminds me when CNN interviewed me after I saw Star Wars

after having eaten 3 pot cookies and being up ALL NIGHT (this is when I lived across from Mann's Chinese). Luckily they played it in an endless loop on Headline News for three days. My whole family was intrigued by my peculiar behavior.

4. that reminds me of the time

I was in charge of doing PR for a community project and this one guy kept saying "get me on TV, I want to be on TV," ect. So when the TV cameras showed up, I get this guy to talk to them...
you guessed it, he froze and sounded like an idiot...

But if you are a reporter, you are probably "better than the average bear" at speaking with the press and you are just being hyper- critical of yourself. So be kind to yourself! :hug: I'm sure you did fine!

5. I was interviewed by Newsweek

and forgot all about it. Then my family started calliing asking about what they had read.. Apparently they did print it.. I never even bought the magazine, so I did not know. My name is so unusual, they knew it HAD to be me.. It was my usual snarky self bashing the politicos.. This was in Oct 1976, I think ...the mag's around here somewhere...
