Pilot delays plane over fat fears
An EgyptAir pilot refused to take off after objecting to the weight of one of his female passengers.

The departure from Cairo airport was delayed three hours as a relative of the "obese" woman and other passengers defended her, Egyptian media report.

Health officials said she was fit to fly despite the captain's protests.

The plane finally took off for Dubai with the woman aboard but five other passengers stayed behind, saying the incident was a bad omen.

It seems that the pilot was concerned about her health. Is flying unhealthy? Is there an increase risk or stroke or heart attack from flying? Maybe, I shouldn't fly either.

5. Of all the carriers

that can be bitching EgyptAir should be the one who shouldn't. The NTSB still believes it was a suicidal pilot who killed everyone on board a flight out of NYC several years back when it crashed, while it was breaking up, into the Long Island sound.

First if all... BOOOOO on that pun... :)

Second... As a person of "size"... Puh-leeze... I'm fat... The problem of trying to cram your ass into a 16 inch wide plane seat is bad enough... but then to have a pilot refuse to take off because someone fat is on board? Good thing middle eastern women are trained to be submissive... could you imagine that pilot telling Aretha the flight would be dealyed while she moseyed her butt off the plane?

Sounds like the pilot had a little too much fat between his ears.

And did they even think of the fact that we, as fat people have our own built in floatation devices in case of an emerdency landing in water... they can stick their seat cushions where the sun don't shine...

8. If the airline was cutting it so close that one fat person could consitute

a threat to the safty of the flight, I would hop off the plane gladly and find another mode of transportation!

Had an instructor who spent many months bouncing around the ME long ago and she said that BOAC Airlines stood for: Better On A Camel!
