4. Not ashamed to be one of those jumping on their bandwagon
Congratulations to the 2003 Florida Marlins! Shouldn't they change the team name to the Wildcards?

8. All Hail the National League.
Fantastic job by Beckett tonight. He pitched a beautiful game.

I love old-fashioned, 2-0, National League style games.

Congrats to the Fish. They were the best team in baseball, not only during the Play-offs, but for the last 3/4 of the year as well.

12. when the Marlins beat the Giants earlier
I said, "look out, this team has something special..." a $52 million payroll, lots of young, hungry players, and they just won the World Series AT Yankee Stadium, beating Andy Petit (who pitched very well btw) and it's over.

I'm just stunned, and so happy for those Marlins. Wow...

meanwhile, there's alot of people with the Yankees headd to Kinko's to photocopy their resumes

on a VERY well played series. I wish the Yankees had won, but they had a good year and, as a Yankee fam, I know that there is always next year. Makes losing a tad less painful. I hope that Steinbrenner has the good sense to improve the team where it's needed (right field, middle relief, starting pitching, with the departure of Clemens, probably Wells and maybe Petitte) and to keep what's working (Torre, Cashman, Stottlemeyer, Zimmer, Pettite!!). What will the red Sox look like next year?

On edit: Where are all of those geniuses that insist that dollars=championships?

20. that's the sad part
all that freakin' money, and this Yankees team was full of holes--no middle relief, coaches headed out, Clemens gone, Wells gonee, Petit likely (but not 100 percent) gone, no right fielder, no solid third baseman, Soriano swinging and missing...I'd hate to be Brian Cashman right now
Oh man, the Yankees wil have to do a whole lot of work now, and it can't be just about spending more money than everyone else.

16. The Marlins really beat the odds
- 7 out of the last 8 times a team trailed 3-2 they won the last two at home
- Pitchers going on 3 days rest had a terrible record in the last 15 years.

So much for statistics. What a gutsy call to start Bechet.

21. The Marlins are the better team
I hope, for the good of baseball, that the owner will make an effort to keep the team together. Championship teams must be defended not dismantled.

Congratulations, again. Any team that beats the Yankees is OK in my book.

Almost as good as when my very own lifelong team won it last year.

(Okay, well, it's not even close, but DAMN, it's good!)
