Has anyone read the Jon Krakauer book regarding the mormon faith?

This book is very interesting and dwells into the underbelly of the mormon church, It is rather disturbing. I knew very little about the mormon faith before this. Any thoughts?

1. We humans have an enormeous ability to swallow so many off

the wall beliefs. That church, its beliefs, its elders is a good example.
They are the richest church in the world in terms of liquid assets.
Very controlling.
But they are very healthy.

2. they were not

very popular in il. during their stay here. seems they wanted to set up their own country and refused to hand over wanted men in il. that hid out there.they were not the best of neighbors.
