I'm confused about DST: someone help, please!
Ok, so the clock hit 2:00 am for the first time, here in NY(Eastern time zone), and my computer clock automatically set itself back to 1 o'clock, like it should. Then it hit 2 o'clock again, and reset itself back to 1 o'clock for a second time. Has this happened to anyone else, and is it 2:18 AM est right now, or am I just freaking out? :scared:

1. Just set it past 2 and you'll be fine
It's a dumb computer. Just tell it that it's after 2. It will understand.

3. I've heard about that happening.
Just another undocumented Windows "feature."

4. Mine reset OK (this time)
Perhaps because it was turned on at the time, and I was online so SocketWatch could do its final twiddling. Last spring, I had to reset it manually. Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't

5. Try to explain DST to fundies
Back when I was teaching High School, there were several evangelicals attending that public school. A discussion arose about DST during free time. Most could understand how it works - but a few remained very confused with one strongly procaliming "If God had wanted and extra hour in the day, He would have made one!!!!" and snapping her mind closed to any further information.
