Anyone in Michigan looking for a dog? Check out Foxy...

More information on Foxy can be found at:
http://www.petfinder.org/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=2136522

(Sorry folks...I wouldn't normally post this but I've played with Foxy and I know she's very loving. She's a bit rambunctious but I think it's because she's lonely.)

1. I would love to have her for my 3 year old granddaughter, but
I already have 3 dogs and my wife said no more until one goes.

8. You can tell your wife what I tell Paul...
I'll get rid of something if you let me get this dog.

Of course, like Paul, I'm guessing she may fail to see the humor of packing her bags for her. Paul never laughs about it.

2. Awww
she is sooooo cute. I really would like a dog, but I am all the way over in Hawaii. But your dog looks handsome and beautiful.

3. Foxy, Amos and Andy...
All of them are just beautiful dogs.

This is Amos...

This is his brother Andy...

They were recent additions to the shelter and my heart broke when I was told about them. I try to be a very non-violent person but I wanted to kill the people who had them when I heard their story.

(FOR THOSE FAINT OF HEART PLEASE DON'T READ THE FOLLOWING)

They were removed from a home where they were not cared for. The yard was covered in excrement. They were not the only critters there, either. There was a cow whose horn was growing back into her skull because it was never cared for (I was offered the option to see the pictures but said no thank you). Amos and Andy had also killed kittens and chickens, apparently for food because they were never fed.

Are you a member of PETA?

7. PETA...
No, I'm not a member of PETA. While I think some of their goals are worthwhile I disagree with them on many key elements. I know that some of their members (Pink, for example, when she took Prince William to task for killing the small antelope) have been very public about things and I do applaud them for that. However, I think that some of the things they do (offering $20,000 in veggie burgers for a town to change their name) only pushes more people away from their message.

5. I don't know if this
is a problem or not. You are not doing it for yourself, just a couple of dogs down on their luck. I don't know the rules about this sort of thing but it is a gesture with great intentions. Shoot, you never know, someone might just fall in love and have the doggies shipped to them.

6. I don't want to violate any rules...
I just want to help someone find a friend. All the dogs that are there now were so loving and friendly but you could tell they needed a companion human. Each of them was vying for our attention trying to show us that he/she was the friendliest, loudest, most loving one there.

MODS, if this is against the rules please just let me know.

Thanks.

9. I live in Saginaw and I'd love a dog
But Iron River, where Foxy is, is about 400 miles from here. I was honestly hoping Foxy'd be in Flint, or Lansing, or Grand Rapids or some such.
Give a shout out to DUers in Wisconsin -- almost any of whom would live closer to Iron River. And good luck -- you can tell from her picture that she's a swell dog!
John
Who already has nine cats -- what's another critter to love?

10. Well, just so you know...
Someone from Lansing drove up to the shelter to get a dog.

Also, Paul, Ken and I live about 5 hours from there (we're in Milwaukee, WI) but we still drove up twice in a week to do some things there.
