I Just Found A Band That Rocks Harder Than The White Stripes

I can't really believe it myself.

I thought hard-rock was all but dead, save for the White Stripes and a scant few other bands out there.

But I just walked out of the store, popped a cd in my car and was blown away.

The sound was something of a mutant hybrid between Queen and Iron Maiden.

The lead singer is so over-the-top that he's almost a charicature of what a hard rock lead singer used to sound like.

Imagine any late 80's hair metal band lead singer - and now cut his testicles off. That's the guy who fronts this band.

But the sound - jeeez, they know how to ROCK.

They're called The Darkness and their album is called 'Ready to Land' - I'd highly recommend it if you like bombasic hard rock.

I get a charge out of them, too. It's like Sweet, Iron Maiden and Queen had a bus wreck and this band is what walked away.

Kind of reminded me of Queen. Definately retro rock. I only heard that one song, I was kind of annoyed, but I couldn't turn the channel because I was entertained. :)

Saw them on in the Cafeteria the other day on CTN...they're ok...didn't hear much of them. The White stipes rock on some songs...but some of them, I have to turn off...

Long RED hair, silver jumpsuit, really cheesy retro futuristic set (if that makes sense) complete with rockets and sparks.

The only thing it needed was more cowbell.

5. The album's called "Permission to Land" and I'm planning on

purchasing it as soon as I get about 20 dollars of disposable income, which should happen in oh, about 2016 or thereabouts. (Fuck Bush and Fuck Tower Records.) I've heard their music and I think it's great (better than Andrew WK, anyways.)

And as far as originality is concerned...At least somebody's ripping off genuinely talented and cool artists instead of Madonna, Prince, et cetera.

8. Damn, that guy has THE worst voice in rock music, maybe ever.

Replace him with just about ANY decent rock vocalist and these guys would be twice as good.

As it is, I just can't take them seriously. It's like one huge bad joke. Frankly, I think it might have been done as a joke.
