13. Balance
I need for things to be balanced in my life to feel good. I need time to work, and time to rest. I need time with others, and time for myself. I need time for passion, and time for quiet introspection. I need time to teach others, and time to learn new things myself. I need time to take care of others, and time to have someone take care of me. It's all about the balance. The Yin. The Yang. When things get out of whack, that's when I feel upset. Sometimes in my life, it's impossible to have things completely balanced (especially because there's little people who need me from 8am to 9pm every day, and sometimes in between), but at least taking time or making time for other things help.

20. Many things...
my boys, when they're in a pleasant mood...
making music with good people...
having the time to appreciate a beautiful place in solitude...
talking with my dearest friend on the phone...
waking up to realize all four cats are lying on top of me...
stopping whatever I'm doing to listen to birds or crickets or frogs...
...or to smell a bunch of flowers
...or to take a breath

etc...

28. Your post
makes me truly happy :) My daughter will be 16 this weekend..I am soooo in love with her too. ..SHHHHH...we bought her a computer with a built-in cd burner and dvd. My husband, Old and in the Way, got it for her...I think he is more excited about the birthday than she is....Good luck with child rearing..you sound like an excellent parent...The little ones are quite a crack up if you don't let the terrorist antics get to you...Good luck!

What makes me really happy is having those endless gigglefests where you just cannot stop laughing.....I miss having those with my half-sister, Mia.

Being with my 13 year old dog, Maxsie, makes me happy. He's very sweet and loyal. There's nothing I wouldn't do for him :-)

And paws and toes and bellies. I can start at my cat for hours, just admiring all her parts. (Except for the one she must waggle in front of me at least twice a day.)

Putting little kisses all over my BF's soft, sweet back first thing in the morning.

Children at the library who are so proud of themselves and excited about being there, handing me their library cards and books.

32. that is so sweet
I was chairman of the library board for six years and we had a program where we would have every second grader in the district come in and apply for their library card...once they got their card they could take out a book....truly priceless..thanks so much for sharing that thought,,,it brought back great memories for me.

What a great pic and what a beautiful daughter! You just made me smile and truly made my day. I just love the little ones. You have so many wonderful years ahead. Enjoy every minute of them...My daughter turns 16 this weekend. It seems like yesterday when I was holding her like that and posing for a pic. Your daughter looks just like her dad:) You must be so proud!
