OK I'll Take Cheesy Out of the Title""Horror Flick "The Omen" on Cable
Edited on Sun Oct-26-03 09:06 PM by RationalRose
It's on the Mystery Channel. The movie used to scare the crap out of me as a kid.

Anyone else have that reaction? For some reason, "Rosemary' Baby" and "The Exorcist" get to me more than other horror movies. Maybe it's because I grew up Catholic!

:scared:

1. Cheesy? That movie is a classic....
There's nothing cheesy about it. The 3 movies you mentioned are classics of 70's allegorical horror.

2. Me too!
I love "The Omen," actually I love all three movies you mentioned, and they scared me to death as a kid.

I was so morbid ... after seeing "The Exorcist" I couldn't sleep with my light off, and I was frightened for weeks that I'd be possessed by the devil!

3. The Omen
starring the late greats Gregory Peck and Lee Remick? NOT CHEESY.

4. Those are my favorite horror flicks
I'm drawn to them whenever they're on TV.

The Omen is kind of cheesy. Maybe it's the '70s clothes. The other two are classics.

I miss Lee Remick and Greg Peck. Great actors!

13. Lee Remick
IMHO, the most beautiful actress ever. She always made my heart go pitty-pat.
John
I miss her and Mr Peck, too.

7. Rosemary's Baby
I think this is a very serious and intense movie. I like the glance at the Time Magazine cover that asks, "Is God Dead?"

If there is virgin birth today, we don't know if it's God or the Devil.

9. This used to creep me out too.
All of the demon stuff did, except, strangely, The Exorcist. I went to that movie with a Catholic high-school friend when it came out, and neither of us were scared in the least. At the time, we were very surprised to be unaffected. We even talked during the movie (whispering, of course, we were no louts), trying to figure out whether the part we were seeing was the part that frightened everyone else. The whole genre usually frightens me, and I have never been able to understand why The Exorcist left me cold (and still does).

17. Well, it's not really cheesy, just not as well-done as
Rosemary's Baby and the Exorcist.

16. The dog attack scene...
I remember being terrified by that when I was a kid! It's still very scary when Peck gets his arm impaled on the iron gate post... ugh!
