It's embarrasing. I practically cringe when I see one on the road. I'm always curious to see what kind of person owns one of them.

20. Either you're joking...
or you have truly frightening taste in automobiles. Now, don't get me wrong...I have nothing against hulking, massive, petrol-swilling road-beasts. But such a vehicle ought at least to have some REDEEMING features...such as utility (by which I mean intended use as a WORK vehicle, not as an upscale truck for suburbanites with too much disposable income to cart their children around in) or elegance and refinement (like, say, a Bentley Continental, Deusenberg SJ, Auburn Speedster...most of the vehicles in this category have been out of production for almost 70 years)...the Escalade and Navigator have neither, really. They're just tarted-up trucks with fancy chromium trim, leather seats and wood veneer on the interior. The popularity of these monstrous, misbegotten exercises in bad taste is a sad confirmation of everything the French have been saying about America for most of the past century.

I owned 6 of them thru the years. They were incredibly roomy yet fuel efficient, had tons of cargo space, and ran great. And when they didn't run so great, they were very easy to work on.

But not as ugly as the Aztek. That is a SPECIAL kind of ugly. An ugly that only comes around once every 25-30 years or so. An ugly that hasn't been since the '74 AMC Matador...

GM designs the ugliest vehicles in general. I'm talking exterior AND interior.

Even the venerable Corvette is quite unremarkable IMHO.

But all those Pontiacs, with that clunky cladding, an interior that looks like it was designed by committee, and the faux "Tough-Guy" stance.

Ick.

aka, the Honda Element, H2 Hummer, Pontiac Aztek, whatever that Saturn SUV is, has got to STOP. Those cars are frigging eyesores. They're horrible.

There's one particular color of Aztek that's particularly puke-inducing - kind of a metallic greenish-orange (hard color to describe) - it's like a migraine on wheels. UGH! That car has one of the UGLIEST ass ends I've seen since the 400-pound plumber dropped his pipe wrench. <shudder>

76. I dunno, that Aztec greenish-orange
metallic really made me feel as if there was something seriously wrong with my eyes or with the world that could allow such a thing to exist.

I saw a great big huge 4x4 pick-em-up truck, all custom chrome wheels and fancy-pantsy stuff - and the thing was painted this sort of slightly orangey PINKISH, like something you'd give a kid to treat diarrhea. It was HORRIBLE and should never see the light of day again. The canopy was painted the same color, so it was obviously a custom job that someone picked ON PURPOSE.

You have to wonder sometimes if people are completely color-blind.

66. Aztek, Element, Hummer
My husband loves the Honda Element, but I saw it actually being driven through a parking lot and revulsion struck anew! ;) When we owned a Suburban, I thought the giant Ford SUV's were way too bulgy, and not sleek or graceful as was the Suburban (for a bus). Nowadays, they ALL seem to look that way and lack any grace in styling, but the Hummer people didn't even try.
