Did any DUers ever own those cars?

2. I owned a 4 door LeCar while in high school
bought it for $250 and it was worth every penny, it even had the 4 way sunroof we could all stand up through while driving.

3. plus it would get me out of class twice a week
when someone would report that I'd left my engine running, it was really the fan, you'd think they'd learn.

11. Nope, never had a problem with it
(which, in view of my driving habits at the time, was quite surprising)

5. Yes, unfortunatelyl I owned a Le Car (I was sick at the time)
It was the WORST car! I hated it from the beginning. Now, why the hell would I have this car? Well, I was in midst of divorce and not thinking coherently and a friend offered me a good price of the car. It was a NIGHTMARE. Died after 2 years. Puhleeze, I don't want to even remember this nightmare.

7. Yugos
are actually still in high demand for racing. My parts dealer owns three and verifies this fact. His bread and butter comes from working on Ferraris and other fine Italian cars. Yugos were never as bad as everyone was lead to believe.

I don't know much about the Le Car, but I do remember my dad used to rat-race his Triumph TR6 against Le Frogs, which I believe were just souped up Le Cars. I remember them almost flipping in hairpin turns.

10. True
My youngest son bought an old beat up Yugo and drove it for three years on minimum maintenance.

9. If You're Looking For An Affordable Alternative
Then buy a 7 year-old Ford. It's a good product and the patents have expired where you can pick up the stuff you need from NAPA now.

I know how they conduct business....

13. I had a Yugo
It wasn't too bad. Got me to and from the places I needed to go. Didn't go really fast but that was okay. It kept my lead foot out of trouble.

15. My husband told me he had a Yugo before we met
Edited on Tue Oct-28-03 12:17 AM by populistmom
Glad he didn't when we met.

His Smurf blue old Corolla was cute, but I couldn't have stomached the Yugo.
