1. The problem here is

that whoever wants us out is going after ALL soft targets
even those they need

2. They did this for a reason

It's meant to frighten away other nations from getting involved, to isolate the United States, make it our war and our war alone. I fear another Beirut, a la October, 1983. Ronald Reagan at least had the good sense to pull us out of that pointless mission, but we are so deep in this mess and * is so stubborn I don't think a huge attack like that will bring this to an end.
