What's all this crap in my juice?
Or, to put it another way, why does every product that calls itself "natural" or "organic" have little bits floating in it?

I love organic as a concept. But is there something about the common strainer that somehow ruins the "natural" aspect of stuff? Do I have to pick my teeth in order to be healthy?!?

4. Yes, yes, yes....
But if we take it out, is it no longer "natural"?

If I have a strainer at the end of my hand juicer, is it no longer freshly squeezed?

I think we're being deceived, and regardless of which side of the bed I fell off of this morning (grumpy side, it seems), I just won't stand for it anymore... :bounce:

2. Well, if there were no pulp, you might not believe that the product...
...is all-natural. If a product is too refined, the thinking goes, folks simply will not believe that it does not have something "processed" about it.

That's my opinion, for what it's worth.

3. Those Little Bits of Fruit
(at least I hope that's what they are) contain the mysterious bioflavinoids, which are not exactly nutrients but help your body to UTILIZE other nutrients. Or so the organic folks would have you believe.

On the other hand, you remember that episode of the Simpsons about the organic juice farm? There ARE some other possibilities.

5. Most brands offer pulp-free juices... even organics...
Ask your natural food grocer to special order you a case of the pulp-free stuff and your life will be far less stressful.
Actually I'm continually amazed at the sheer variety of options offered for most food products.

Like running your juice through a stainer to remove the pulp will kill ya?

8. Orange Juice without pulp just isn't Orange Juice to me.
My BF likes pulp free...but if I can't chew my orange juice, what's the point? LOL Besides, there are vitamins in all that stuff.

11. Fiber, baybee!
Everything's got to have more fiber these days - Americans are starting to crap little pellets like hamsters. We don't want to be an entire nation of whistle-asses, after all!
