This is the sixth wrong number today...
Some woman just called my house and said she and her mother had 3:00 appointments for teeth cleaning, and were we on schedule. For a moment there I almost told her that the dentist's office was running ahead of schedule this afternoon and could she come in an hour early. How evil am I?

1. Fill out all the forms
If you decide to clean her teeth, make sure to fill out the myriad insurance forms in order to get paid.

3. I Got a Whole Bunch Of Wrong Numbers Earlier This Year
I had to change my cell phone number, because Qwest forced T-Mobile to split the service area between Colorado Springs and Pueblo. And for a few weeks after I got my new number, I was getting calls for what must have been a young Hispanic person - I would answer the phone with "Hello?", and would hear "Hola" in response.

The wrong numbers stopped after a few weeks.

5. Check the phone book
One year, they published the wrong number for a garage. I kept getting calls from people wanting to know if their car was ready.

8. When I first moved to Portland
I kept getting calls asking for "the parent or guardian of so-and-so." I finally asked who was calling, and it was the juvenile detention center.

Evidently, the little darlings there were passing around my number as a joke. I told the caller about the string of similar calls, he slowly said, "Oh...really!"

I never got any more such calls.
