and expert shoe shoe repair!

BTW, that site lists him as Apu on the Simpsons. That's wrong, Apu is Hank Azaria...

He's also not Chief Wiggums either...WTF? They got alot wrong on that site...

4. Nope
No way. Hank is a regular cast member, he's always done Apu and Wiggum. Phil was only a guest voice, though he did it alot. It wouldn't make sense for him to do those voices at all. They just made a mistake is all...They also listed alot of the character that Troy McClure "played" as separate characters...

I really do miss Phil's talent, he always made me laugh...

6. It always makes me sad...
To be watching Futurama and see Zap Brannagan come on. I have absolutely no facts to back it up, but the character was so obviously written to be voiced by Phil that it needs no facts to support it...

13. I moved to L.A. a week before his death.
I saw a show at the Groundlings a couple of days before. The thought of his murder just infuriates and saddens me.

5. I miss him so much....
He was a wonderful man, with so much more joy to give.

Newsradio was the greatest ensemble cast in a sitcom since "Barney Miller". Phil was the heart and it died a slow death with his loss.

8. He and Jan Hooks were two of the finest ensemble players on SNL
I think they were both terribly underrated and of course rarely got attention because they simply worked so well with the show's format.

She's still with us, fortunately. May he rest in peace.

10. Hi, I'm Troy McClure!
Edited on Mon Oct-27-03 07:16 PM by Rabrrrrrr
You might remember me from such movies as Cry Yuma! or Hitler Doesn't Live Here Anymore!

What agreat actor, and a great voice. Every time I watch the Simpsons with his voice, I am saddened.

I'm not one to get maudlin over dead performers, but he was so wodnerful, and his death so tragic, it touched me.

12. I am just a caveman, thawed out by your scientists...
So many things I don't understand... but one thing I do understand, we need to cut the capital gains tax! :D

We just watched my tape of the SNl Hartman tribute the other night. Dammit! He was amazing.

I loved his Clinton, his Reagan, and the Sinatra skits. Too too funny that man. The Simpsons isn't as good without him either.

14. Remember him as Cap'n Carl in "The Pee Wee Herman Show"?
Later on he played Carl from time to time on "Pee Wee's Playhouse".

"Fish is brain food!...Guess that's why I've got a lot on my mind..."

"Miss Yvonne...may I...like you? I mean...REALLY like you?"
