Poll question: What shall we give our trick-or-treaters this year?
I have some treats all prepared for the little snookums. Which ones do you think will be the most popular?

3. Little Packets of Hot Mustard and Duck Sauce
lying around the fridge. Or, when the 15-year-olds come by at 10PM with no costume, I always say "Shucks -- we just ran out of those miniature bottles of Jack Daniels."

5. A safer alternative for modern times

Why not find out who in your community is having a Halloween party for low income kids, and make a donation?

It's safer than opening your door to people who you have no way of knowing whether they are part of a "young patriot" group or some similar thing, or if their parents are, and because it is impossible to predict whether something that can be seen from the doorway of your home, or heard, a book, someone speaking a language other than English, picture on the wall, you never know, and your money will go to kids who don't live in attractive suburbs where they can go around knocking doors, or afford costumes.

We always buy lots of candy, and luckily get damn few trick-or-treaters. Any excuse to eat more chocolate!
