1. Why would your age have anything to do with it?
Got a parent, grand-parent or great-grand-parent who came from there?

Cuz if so, you've got a much easier time of it.

9. Well anything's possible
but I've never heard of an age limitation.

And I wouldn't take the word of one person at an embassy.

MPs can open doors, and get answers... and then at least you'd know for sure.

it's not a problem. The nursing shortage in Europe is as bad, if not worse, than the one in the U.S.

10. Surely a talented gardener could find work anywhere.
Or you could start your own business. Heck, open your own multi-lingual journalism school.

13. Good for you!
It ain't easy, as I'm sure you know, but I'm always happy at the end of the day. And it has opened so many doors over time. The variety of things you can do as a nurse is astounding. I went back to school to become a Pediatric NP, and followed that with a post-master's cert to become a Psychiatric Mental Health NP. What's most important, as I guess I already stated, is that I love my job. I hope you will, too.

14. Just remembered
Ireland supposedly has a special deal for writers.

You can live there tax free, and be a citizen.

Now I don't know if that applies to journalists, or if you have to have written a book...but you might want to look into it.

18. hard, but not impossible
Depends on the EU-member where you apply for one: unlike almost everything else a work-permit is only good for the EU-member which issued it. Americans and Japanese citizens enjoy relaxed rules in most EU-countries -I'm not sure if that applies to Canadians as well.
I'd say: if you have a job offer, then getting the permit to go with it shouldn't be a problem.
