I love anime, but
I'm apparently not doing the right drugs for FLCL to make sense. Its like a mix of Pink Floyd's The Wall and my one friend's 21rst birthday party where I got trashed and passed out on his couch.

1. My husband loves FLCL!
I don't get it, however. In fact, I don't get much of the anime he watches. How is that pronounced, again? "Furi-Kuri?"

5. Well
I like Trigun, and Bebop of course.

I wasn't digging Blue Gender at first, but I'm liking it now.

And to clarify, I don't *hate* FLCL, I just have no idea what the F is going on half the time.

3. FLCL is wonderful
But it's impossible to explain and a loveit/hateit type of a show.

I come down on the side of loving it.

7. FLCL is an amazing work of art
Even without paying attention to the story. The artwork is just stunning, the music is perfect and it's the only Anime that gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Especially the entire 'hybrid rainbow' segment in Episode 2.

The story will make sense, you just need to watch it a few more times.

14. FLCL is the bomb!
It's another hit from Gainax, the sam people who've made Evangelion (and if you thpight FLCL was mindblowing...), Nadia and the Secret of Blue Water --Cartoon network ad/or Adult Swim should show that one--and Kare Kano (I'll try to get the DVD set for Christmas) FLCL has the best rock music soundtrack ever, especially when Minamori has that robot grow out of HER head (!) Naota--the main character_-is perhaps the most matre anme creation I've seen, Unnlike Eva's Shinji, he doesn't screw around and doesn't need a handout (especially episode 5). His dad is fucked in, in a very funny way (I loved the Lupin bit). And lastly, Haru Hara Haruko--wel, just watch the show

BTW, :wtf: happened to the last epsiode of Big O? It should have been "The Show Must Go on", not going BACK to Roger's bad trip down the memory hole  (I understand the story, just womdering why they skipped backwards for)

But on a good note, Dragonball is now showing the epic Goku vs Piccolo battle at the Martal Arts toournament, you don't want to miss these!

19. good, cause i was some kind of pissed off Sunday!
Ok, I'll try to explain th Big O as best as I can here;

warning, spoiler ahead!

40 years ago, something happened which seemed to have caused everone in Paradgn City to suddenly lose their memories. I strongly suspect some kind of dimensional disturbance, where you would have several realities. In one reality, everyone has their memories (or data in the case of androids and robots) The Big O "reality" is where these memories have been mosly forgotten and/or hidden. Because...Paradign City is actualy a giant movie set! :eyes: If the citizens of Paradign found out they were being used as pawns for some 'God", well, all hell would break loose.

Enter Roger Smith. He is the Negotiator, in charge of settling disputes and hired by the founder of Paradign to prevent anyone form gaining access to the lost memories and raise hell. For womever has the memories of the past will in effect control Paradign City.

More spoilers--most of the people in Paradign City were "born" via artifial means--in the last episode in order, Police Chef Dotson ran into a clone of himself as a boy! Alex Gldwater, son of the man who "created" paradign, has found one of the rare Megadus robots, and when he found out that he was nothing more than another "tomato" grown by his father, he activates the Big Frau Megadues with the memory core of Dorothy (Roger's android girlfriend). He intends to remake Paradign into his own version, and have himelf declared Domiunce of Megadeus. Roger Smith climbs into his Megadues the Big O, and the final battle was about to start.

I know it's not the best answer, but once the final episode airs, then I can summarize much better.

That's what it stands for.

The show doesn't even begin to make any sense until towards the very end, IMO.
