1. It has to be on your own harddrive
then click the option to choose your own (from options).. That's all there is to it.. But it must fit the size range too

6. If that's the pic you want to use, it will be hard to distinguish
when you shrink it to 48 high.. (I think that's the max)

www.irfanview.com is a free site I love.. It will allow you to go nuts and make all kinds of avatars.. Then just "save as" to your harddrive..and upload to avatar in options (on DU)

I quit using avatars.. The pics I liked looked blah when they were "little-ized".
