AOL....Hell Users can you answer a question?

I keep hearing a door opening and shutting in my computer and it's driving me nuts.
I thought that it happened when I would get an email but that's not it.
I can't run Java because I keep getting scripts errors. Is this normal?

Something is odd with AOL because it keeps telling me that I am logged on as another user.

Should I remove AOHELL and reinstall everything on this new computer.

I will have to take the files off of the A drive won't I.

When I had AOHELL years ago I couldn't get it off of my computer unless I reinstalled everything after I deleted the files off of my hard drive.

This is a new computer and I don't want to do that.

I have AOL(I got 6 months free when I bought this computer,and am too lazy to switch). The only time I hear doors opening and closing is when people on my buddy list come and go,not with email.

Look up AOL hacks on Google.
Script kiddies run *rampant* through there.

Check the AOL Help chat rooms for some assistance with your java errors.
Being logged in as another user can't be a good thing.
You should be able to simply uninstall AOL from the control panel.
Just don't delete files willy nilly before you do that and you should be ok.

Which OS are you using?

Oh and the door sounds are definitely from your buddy list.

5. Under XP You Can Have Multiple Users

Set up Admin privilages under your name so you sister can't alter and/or add anything without asking you first; otherwise you have an unprotected computer subject to her whim.

I should have suggested it earlier, but you mentioned she didn't know how to work the keyboard.

On Edit: You mentioned you were paying for internet access through your cable company. I would contact them and disconnect AO Hell ASAP! The router from your old computer should work fine.

I want to un-install their shit that is on this computer. In the past I had problems with AOHELL and I had to go into the A drive and delete directory files that belonged to them.

9. Check With XP To See What's Been Set Up First

Your sister may have set up another account on the machine under XP without your knowledge. If not, set one up with you as the Admin. The wizard will walk you through the process.

Secondly, the "A" drive was your primary on an eMachine. On IBM based stuff, the floppy Is the "A" drive and your primary source of info---the Hard Drive---is "C" while the CD burner is generally D or E.

When you decide to delet AO Hell, do a "search" and send all the files directly to your "Recycle" Bin and then do a clean and a defrag to rearrange all the info left on your hard drive.

10. I didn't install AOHELL on my emachine

I am talking about my Packard Hell that I had before I had to downgrade to the eMachine.
I went to Community College for programming and I use to have and IBM and that's how I learned to go into the A drive.
I wouldn't do that because I am afraid of screwing something up on the registry.

To repair your registry. You just can't reformat and replace the Operating System under the same XP CD-ROM more than once without shelling another $100 or so to Bill Gate$ and Micro$haft.

AOHELL is nothing more then pervasive virus in disguise.

Reformat your hard drive and go clean.

When I got Earthlink DSl, and then later on Comcast cable internet they sent me their disc to "install" my broadband. I called tech support and had them walk me through the process of getting online without inserting disc. Nothing more then company propaganda taking up space on your system.
