hedgetrimmer makes it through surgery!!!!!!!!!!!
and seems to be doing well. For all those who don't know he was diagnosed with a brain tumor last Saturday. He had surgery today...he is in intensive care. I came home to put our son to bed....he fell asleep on a chair......Thought I'd let you all know.

3. Thanks for keeping us posted
I was going to post a thread today. Get yourself some rest and tell him he is loved and missed.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, a clean bill of health and congrats on your wedding (which I am presuming took place Friday)

9. yes we got married on Friday
I have to say I'm posting as I'm home here alone....I'm staying the night with our son who is 3...he has had a very hard time and won't even really talk to his Dad......the ICU nurse let me run him in to see his dad for maybe a minute but he won't even hug or kiss him.....he has been very scared. I told him today his Dad was OK but he keeps saying maybe he's not. After effects are expected. Possible side effects he was experiencing before maybe intensified.ie dizziness, inability to find words. He was having trouble speaking the last few weeks finding discriptive words etc. anyway I'm home here alone and it's too late to call anyone so I thought I'd reply......Thank YOu for thinking of us.

24. As one who is going through similar stuff, good luck.
Edited on Wed Oct-29-03 09:06 PM by Throckmorton
Mrs Throckmorton has been fighting cancer for 10 months now. Our two children, 6 and 7 when it started, but now 7 and 8, both benefited greatly from support groups. But three may be a bit young for that.

I found that keeping the routine as close to normal as possible really helped. It will be a few weeks before you can do that I know, but it helped my two children, and myself, regain some control over ourlives.

Was the tumor malignant?

Love,

Throckmorton

21. Fabulous!
You can get through this. My husband had testicular cancer when he was 25 - it's now 19 years later and he's fine. I bet that hedgetrimmer's tumor is benign, but if not, and you need support from a spouse who's been through cancer, feel free to email me.
