My kitties are smart alecs.. Evil smart alecs and they mock me..
I have this large spray bottle that I aim at them when they are being naughty.. They usually realize their misdeed and stop..

1. clawing the wallpaper (Sweetie Pie)
2. scrapping..(Willie & Sweetie Pie)
3. trying to knock each other off the top of the cat tower (Willie, Sara, Sweetie Pie, Sammy)
4. hogging the couch..(Mommie, Sammy, Marvin)
5. eating plastic bags..(Skunkie, Sara, Sammy,Marvin)
6. getting on the counter top..)Sweetie Pie
7. clawing the couch..(Sammy)

Last night I came home from shopping, and Marvin, Sara,& Sammy made a bee-line for the plastic bags..(They just chew off the handles), so I picked up the spray bottle (it stays on the floor by the couch..)

The spray nozzle is MISSING and the top of the spray apparatus is totally full of kitty teeth marks..

The cats just looked at me as if to say.."Whatchoo lookin' at"?, the bottle will not spray, and they KNEW it..

2. heehee....
how many do you have? Sheesh?! I have three and that seems like plenty. But I guess, given my druthers, I'd probably have a bunch of 'em, too. They're just endlessly amusing.

4. So What Else is New?
But I'm glad to hear from you.

I and several others were worried that you had to excavate...never mind that I shot my mouth off in the first place....

All I can in my defense is that "we" care, okay?

6. surely you realized just how intelligent the furred ones are?
surprised they weren't actually laughing at you, or giggling, at the very least.

I watched a friend's cat one day-- pushed the can of cat food off the counter, pushed it into a corner, and was busy prying the lid off-- had his claws hooked under the pop-top, just didn't have quite enough leverage to pull it completely off.

7. Plastic bags
are coated with gelatin in a very thin layer so they will come apart. Gelatin is a beef product. That's why kitties like plastic bags so.

11. So Jack, is that why
I had to replace my bathmat? They chewed it to smithereens - and I mean shredded to bits, and then they started in on the shower curtain. Isabel (the newest kitty and named after the hurricane that she is, taught Michigan this bad habit). They both love the plastic bags, love the noise, love running through the house with them attached to their necks, paws etc!

10. What did you expect?
It comes with the territory.

I just got up. One won't sit in my lap and is glaring at the wall thinking "why me?" The kitten is stumbling around the middle of the living room moaning "sleep....sleep...."

13. Cats just need to assert their obvious superiority over mere
humans. Always thought Fat Freddy's Cat got it about right when he said "just wait til he puts on his stereo headphones".....

15. I mistakeningly locked one of mine in the closet this morning
quick little f**ker, I have no idea how she got in there.

My wife called me just as I got to work, she opened the bedroom closet and inside was the girl. She looked miserable. I am usually very careful to not let her in the bedroom when the closet will be open but she got in there somehow.

17. Mine have decided that I am not entitled to sleep
The last couple of nights, they have decided that 3:00 AM is a good time to climb onto me and demand food. Doesn't matter what time the last feeding was, or if there's food in the bowl. They just figure, hey, it's 3:00 AM, let's wake the old man up! Then they do it again at 6:00 (regular time).
