Okay Computer Gurus! My email is being used to send out spam.

I've got firewalls galore and Norton and Spybot. How do I stop this?

I just got a mailer daemon and apparently I am moonlighting as a person who wishes to help you get a diploma with no studying whatsoever!! :hi:

1. Could you download HijackThis

from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html and post the log it gives you?

Try ad-aware and AVG anti-virus first.

2. It could be someone else has the virus

Sometimes virus' will take names out of the address book of a computer and send out email as that person. It personalizes the email giving it a greater chance of being opened.

In the past I've notified people that I got a virus from them only to realize that someone else was affected and the email address of the person I notified just happened to be in the address book.

But it sounds like this email is nothing more than spam. Your email address could have been acquired from somewhere else and the spammer is just using it.

Email can be sent with any "From" address. It doesn't have to match the account used to login to the email server.
