I'm such a procrastinator.....

This is my last midterm for this semester and I've only done a page of it so far. It's due at 2:40PM and I haven't done any of the readings because I never bought the books. I really couldn't afford to get the books.

*sigh*

Anyway, I'm heading over to the library now to get the readings off reserve so I can bullshit for five pages about the "female spectator" in The Philadelphia Story and Stella Dallas.

Let's see if I actually can get this done before 2:40PM. I seriously doubt it......

Bullshit doesn't take long. Have you learned anything in your classes? I haven't been in college for a long time. Do students take learning seriously? Do professors give you good information and opportunity to learn? Is there any motivation out there?

I have the class transcripts, and the students really take this class very lightly. My professor's somewhat of a flake and talks very generally about the topic.

So far, the motivation I have is not to fail this semester. ;-)

Harsh? Why yes, that word has been used when I knock student's grade down one level for making an English error that's been corrected in previous papers. They were warned. They did it anyway. To do otherwise is to be an enabler.

They also think I'm horrible because I make them work hard. Biggest complaint on my student evaluations.

Why would someone sign up for a course and not want to work? Don't they want to get their money's worth?

Apparently all students, having grown up with media saturation, think of college as one last big hurrah before the doom and decay of adulthood.

Slink, at risk of dooming my crush on you by invoking your post-midterm ire, you would hate having me for a teacher even more. I paid/worked my way thru school at 1700 dollars a class and thus have no sympathy for the "Didn't get it done because Widespread was in town" crowd. Makes me ballistic. Still your fondest love servant, though.

awww, does it count if I finished my midterm before midnight? Cher would be pleased to hear that my computer crashed during my writing the midterm paper----she'd think it was poetic justice. So far, I've skipped a class to rewriting it from scratch. It's finally done now-----two hours before midnight. I might go for a chai at the coffee bar tonight! :-)
