Post your latest dog pictures!
Here are two new ones of my dog Reba. She's a mixed breed that I got from the SPCA, and I couldn't have gotten a better dog anywhere. I want to ask again what breeds you think are in her. When whe was young, she would sometimes do a pointing motion. She weighs about 115 pounds. And she has a soft undercoat. Any ideas would be appreciated. We think she has at least German Shepherd and Golden Retriever.

Lazy Reba here (sweet):

Picture of her from my front yard:

4. Thanks to both of you
:hi:

Yes, she does look like she has come Collie hair. Maybe border collie because of the black and white?

3. My dog is a kleptomaniac
I came home yesterday to resume working on a project I was working on the day before.
When I looked for my glue, it was gone.
I practically accused everyone in the house of taking my glue and not returning it.
Come to find out the dog stole my tube of glue and had it in her corner with all the other clothes and personal items we have been missing.

She is just lucky the glue didn't burst.

7. Perhaps a little Border collie
I think Reba has the eyes and the intense look of a border collie. Does she watch your every move? Her coloring and fur too are a little bit border collie.

She's a beauty no matter what breed.

Mixed breeds are my very favorite. They're smart and good looking.

8. She's definitely alert
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 11:54 AM by mvd
That's a trait that Border collies have. Thanks for the compliment! Mixed breeds are often healthier, too. Reba never gets sick. Her only non-check up trip to the vet was when she chewed at her foot.

11. That's what I was thinking...I have a Border Collie and I see some
similarities. The ears and eyes, especially.

Our Border Collie is so smart...it is scary sometimes.

Does Reba like to "stare" at things? (like squirrels)? Our dog will stand forever and stare at a squirrel -- and will not move a muscle.

13. Reba's also highly intelligent
Kind of toddler-like, in fact. She understands so many words. As for staring, she does that to a degree. She's quite intense. She's also very friendly with all people and dislikes other dogs. Though her dog thing could go back to the pound, when dogs might have bullied her since she was so young.

15. Dewey, my foster dog
Dewey was headed for the pound. His family is moving to Florida and can't take him because they had no permanent housing. They were going to drop him at the pound. The rescue group sent me an e-mail and I decided to foster him. I knew he would be put down if he was sent to a shelter because he is about 11 years old and people just don't want to adopt older dogs. He is unique as he has one blue eye and one brown eye.

if I could have a dog it would be a rescued greyhound.

more quiet dog you'll never meet. For their size, it is amazing how silent and gentle they are. :hi:

My former therapist back home has two rescues and has become involved in rescue work. That's how I heard of them. Too bad we don't have the space/time for a dog.

22. The shot of her belly and the patterns of her fur scream Sheltie to me.
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 01:14 PM by MrsGrumpy
Her tail is similar to Jessie's too.
Here is Jessie:

Shelties can be sable (like Jessie), merle ( a bluish color with whites and blacks mixed in so they look gray) and tri colored (which are black and white with some brown. The tri's look a lot like border collies. But your puppy's fur sure looks sheltie-ish to me...along with that belly! :hi:

Thanks for stopping by! I've always loved that picture of you and your dog. I remember that the SPCA listed Reba as a Shepherd/Collie mix.
