I'm not sure that was the best thing to do. Why stoop to their level? Will it change the way they think? Will it change their actions? I don't think so, but it sure will probably reinforce any sterotypes they hold about liberals.

2. I had a Republican ask about my FW sticker.

He wanted to know if meant fire Bu$h. I said "No, it's not that polite."

I then told him to have a nice Memorial Day and to remember all the veterans and our armed forces, including my friend, Sgt. Dorsey, who just got back from Iraq.

I'm gonna order the FW sticker and also the M The Moron stickers when I get paid. Two each, one for each vehicle. I've bookmarked the websites. I'm sorry for being cheap. I've had HUGE bills this month.

I still need to tape the stickers inside the windpw. Because of my work I need to take them off sometimes when making site visits in my truck.

10. I'm a Viet Vet and I'm with ya....

For a reason I can never quite identify I always feel that twinge of anger when I see one of those yellr' ribbons stuck to cars. I believe in supporting the men and women at war.....hell, I was a Marine in Viet Nam in '69. And I can tell you that while our boys and girls in Iraq and Afghanistan are very patriotic, they are suffering folks. Homesickness, the latest vision of carnage burned into their brains, the fear of being next, wanting to cry, but can't....no matter what I'm doing at the time I stand every evening when "Fallen Heros" is shown on CBS, telling another story of a fallen hero and his family back home. This is another life snuffed out for Bush's lies. Another family in torment, another widow, more children without a father. And what about the innocent Iraqis? Do these families suffer less?
I heard Randi Rhodes say today that she wanted to enlist at first. I can understand. When all this started I wrote the WH requesting they allow me to return to serve on active duty in Iraq, although at 55 I'm not in the kind of shape the Marines are known for. But, I can still fire a weapon and do some damage.
(BYW...This is the first time I have ever written the WH, out of maybe four or five, that I didn't receive even a form reply.)
But, now? I don't think so, scooter! Let Bush go! Round up the neocon chickenhawk patriots who love to sing America the Beautiful and that Lee Greenwood song and pretend that they would "stand up and fight" for our freedom. BULLSHIT!!!

15. My problem is that "support the troops" is an order.

"I support the troops" would be a personal statement of support.

My stepdaughter gave me one of those yellow ribbons. I added, with a sharpie, "bring them home".

17. please don't misunderstand.....

I know the feeling of wanting to do something when you feel almoist powerless. Someone could place one of these magnets on their vehicle and be as patriotic (or more)as me or anyone else. Sometimes this is about all anyone can do, besides pray and vote and I, for one, appreciate it.
For me I suppose I feel like one of the above posts that says it feels like we're being "ordered" to support them, or maybe they are sported around by those who dodged service.
Anyway, I appreciate you and your feelings, Cottonbear, and I appreciate all those who share these expressions out of a true patriotic spirit.

21. Thank you for your kind response. I am a patriot w/ friend in the Army.

He just got back from a year in Iraq. He's was an ammunition supply Sgt. near Tikrit. I prayed for his safety every day. He's a young black man from GA who joined so that he could go to graduate school. He's named Kenji. He's out in Washington state now and may be redeployed to Afghanistan this year.

Goddamn * if anything happens to my Kenji. I have cried many times when he called our office to let us know he was OK (he was an intern at our office). He is a patriot and so are you. I would join in the fight in a just war. I'm a 41 year old woman in pretty good shape. I love America and I appreciate all of our soldiers.
