What are you grateful for?

I am happy that the summer is here (more or less), that I am healthy and live a pretty good life. I have a good job, I enjoy my work, I have no big problems and I have a very sweet bf.

Everything else is wonderful, there is lots of love in my life. I have a wonderful family, and wonderful friends.

4. I am happy because I have a new puppy.

It was difficult when my old dog died, but I found it impossible to be without canine companionship. I have always had a dog.

I have not housebroken a dog since 1982, but I am happy to do it.

We are thinking of naming her Kinsey. It would be for Kinsey Millhone. But it also will piss off the fundies in my family, because they hate the sex researcher Kinsey.

I am always happy to piss off fundies.

30. She is 3/4 Lab and 1/4 Great Dane.

She will be big. I don't have pictures yet.

She is gated in the laundry room. I have been awake all night, because she will not stop whining and barking. She is only nine weeks old, and has never been away from mommy.

When does this cursed crying and whining stop? I don't think my other puppy made this much noise when we confined her and housebroke her.

9. Good thread - we should remind ourselves more often that we do have

things to be happy for; it keeps our strength up.

I am happy that even though I cannot work anymore I have - so far! - no financial troubles. That might change any minute but so far it hasn't; and my sickness hasn't progressed as fast as could have been. I'm happy because I'm living with a good man. I have one or two very, very good friends. I get along well with brother and sister. And I have the best little horse in the world, and even though I don't have the strength anymore to tend my little garden I still have it at least.

Vow, that's quite a lot, isn't it?

And used an on-line dictionary for the bits I had forgotten. The bit I could never get (the same with Latin, French, Italian and Russian when I learned them as well) is the whole grammatical gender thing - we use it so rarely in English - even learning noun declensions seemed easy be comparison.

I remember at the 2000 elections we were following it over the Internet and were hoping the whole time that Gore would win (which he actually did). He looked and still looks like a monkey.

Edit to add: I actually felt scared when he became pResident. Seems those scares weren't wrong.

24. My kitten Dell is sleeping, finally, I don't want to wake him up.

I see what I can do in the morning. He has been running around all night, I finally got him down. He is orange kitten, and he is going to be a big boy. He is very sweet, and he did keep me company last week when I had the flu. Why didn't I get a flu shot.:hi:

I named him Dell because he likes the computer, he likes to help me type.

I've walked my path on earth alone, this time. There are so many bad things I've seen but fortunately not been a part of and for that I'm very grateful.

Today, I've become grateful for my friends who love and respect me.

My biggest problems, my health problems are melting away. I recently started treatment with a craniosacral therapist. One side of my face became paralyzed just over three years ago. The doctors ran test which showed no permanent damage however the problem still exist. The really great news is after only three visits to my new therapist my face is returning to normal ~ finally. It will take more treatments but long before I return to Boston next spring the crooked smile that most people rarely notice will become just a memory.

I'm very grateful that now I have time and returning good health. I intend to use both wisely to help others around me who need the strengths I've gained through a lifetime of learning.

That's changing - perhaps it's where I live or who I have become but whatever the reason ... I'll take it.

Yes, sadly there are still hypocrites and users who would act as your friend for their own edification but their true personalities always do come out. That is really why most people only see the harder side of me until I have the time to sort the bad guys out from the good guys.

I get friendly with people very fast to sometimes find out later that they are no real friends. But most time I am lucky.
I was friend with a woman my age for some years. Since I am together with my bf, this friendship is over pretty much. She said not so nice things about my bf without knowing him and told another friend of her about my bf (who does not know my bf and who tried to hit on me). She didn't know that he was hitting on me and talked to me. He told me what she said to him and also made nasty comments about my bf. That was the last straw that I stopped talking to them.
