Opera users -- Java question
Can you get Java working? I can't get mine to work, no matter what version of Opera I use.. It's odd.

1. Last I recall, Opera doesn't support Java.
Try Mozilla instead.

Of course, my info isn't the latest and Opera may have incorporated Java support recently...

2. Do you have the Java JRE installed?

Opera uses the java runtime environment directly instead of a plugin. Do you have it installed correctly?

Added on edit:
They've had this support since Opera 4 beta 4.

3. When you download Opera,

you simply need to make sure you've downloaded the (much larger) version that includes Java. I have it without on my work machine and with on my home machine. Works fine with.

On edit: I've probably patronized you immensely, your pardon sir. You've surely already done that. Anyway, it does work fine in my experience.

4. Java

http://www.verostko.com/turing-f0.html Did you download Opera 7.21 w/java? That's the hot set-up. Opera uses an early version of Java best: 1.4.1_01. Other versions tend to crash Opera. The above URL is a good java test. You might want to upgrade to 7.21. I don't know much about Opera 1. 7.21 has it's own e-mail client. Search java archives for early version, download to "C", uninstall all other java apps before installing new version. Click "about Opera" to see if Opera picked up install.

5. It also depends on your service pack with your OS
When I put Opera on my Win2000 machine I had to upgrade the service pack to version 4. No biggie
