He was fabulous in Evolution and X Files. Why isn't he making more movies!? God, he's a great actor, but no. He's hawking dog food!

1. Probably making a big pile of money.
I imagine commercial work can be quite lucrative.

3. He wrote, directed and starred in House of D recently
Apparently not a great film, but Duchovney fans would probably dig it.

4. Didn't he marry Tea Leone?
I hope he's happily married and enjoying family life. It takes a smart guy to figure out there's more to life than fame and oodles of money.

8. he's made other movies - I forget what they were too.
He was good in X-Files, and I like the guy, but I can't help wonder if he'd have had more success afterwards had he stuck with the show another season or two. I think a lot of fans went sour on him after he, in some perception, abandoned Mulder and Scully.

Just a thought.

If I were his manager, I'd have him do some remake of something once popular (like Batman or Bewitched or War of the Worlds or an Independence Day 2 or maybe Get Smart. I'd want to see him doing Hollyood Squares before Dog Food Commercials.

He needs a comeback movie.

9. he probably has enough stashed away from "X-Files"
He can live comfortably on that and commercial/voiceover work (he did some ads up here in Canada as well) and have enough freedom to do projects he's really interested in. I could easily imagine him doing more independent film work, and maybe getting into writing and directing more. He's also talked about maybe going back to grad school and finishing his PhD. He and his wife have said that don't want to have a typical "Hollywood" lifestyle -- they want to bring up their kids themselves, without a bunch of flunkeys running around.

More power to them, I say. Sounds pretty sensible to me.

12. Oh, I just remembered
There are talks of another X-Files movie. I don't have the link now, but I read about it a few months back.
