Worcester in England is pronounced "wooster," and that is almost certainly where it is named after.

We're weird in that area.

Is there anything uglier than a Boston accent? The letter "R", say it "AAARR", like a pirate and "ERR" like the back end of a dog's growl. Not "Ahh" like a doctor would ask you when using a tongue stick. New Yorkers have this problem too but not as bad.

Red-ing (red, not read)

And Woburn--the first syllable is pronounced Woo not Woh, and this one drives me nuts because it's constantly pronounced wrong by announcers who didn't grow up here!
