Where is the best place to get social this weekend?
A bar (closest one I'd feel even remotely comfortable in is 22 miles away)?

Coffee house (closest one I even know of is 33 miles away)?

Bowling alley? (closest one I even know of is 33 miles away)

Corner of 4th and Hennepin? (about 30 miles away)

Church (35 miles away)

Keep in mind I am looking for gay-friendly locales in St Paul/Minneapolis area. Except for the 4th/Hennepin intersection, I'd only find chicks there who want money or muggers or dope dealers or desperate politicians...

I say church as a token possibility, the one I'd gone to - while gay friendly - was ridden with "clicks" and had a repuke slant to it, so I don't go there anymore.

Thanx!

2. Yes, but...
(a) it's a coworker who invited me
(b) need a costume (too late for me to get a good one...)
(c) the coworker said I could pick up chicks (I'd rather pick up men, thanks all the same)

4. It's Not Too Late for a Costume
I'm sure Will Pitt wouldn't mind if you went as Roy. All it takes is a beanie baby. Or you could go as Harvey Pekar. Or whatever. Halloween parties are fun. You don't even have to be like everyone else. Something about the anonymity.

6. Make up a costume.
If I was nearby, I'd loan you my Blackhawks jersey. You could go shopping for a mullet wig and go as Wayne, from Wayne's World. You can figure something out if you want.

As to your co-worker...uh...I'm sure he means well. :7

3. No buts
Just pick a place and get out there. That's an order, private! :D

Don't worry so much. Look at your post. It looks like you're finding an excuse to find something wrong with all of your choices. The coffeehouse sounds nice. Are they playing music this weekend? What about museums?

7. Go to an apple orchard, you fool!
There you are, in the land where Fireside apples grow happily, it's fall, and you're not going out to score some apples? There's several great orchards somewhere near that airport in Eden Prairie (stay away from the U's orchard, though). Get some Firesides, get some cider, some of those places have cheese and honey......oh, man, what am I doin' here in Southern Cal?
