last 4 days Ive had major storm sweep through my town at 3am waking me up now its quiet and I cant sleep!

But lately I've just had really fucked up sleeping habits. Like Sleeping from 8am to 3pm and such.

Last summer was really bad. I had a span of two weeks where I averaged about an hour a night.

So you are doing the right thing: getting up and posting on DU! And us west coasters are still up and talking ...so there you are...After awhile, you'll get sleepy and then you'll go back to bed and get the rest you need!
Your body will break the pattern of being awake after awhile...and you'll be able to relax more readily.

When I did night audit at a hotel it was a real problem.I could only manage maybe 2-3 hours of sleep during the day.After 6 months I wasnt the easiest person to be around.

chronic, lifelong insomniac. You know how so many people wish they had extra hours in a day? Well, I do - about 4 or 5 hours.

21. with school out, i have fallen into a second shift lifestyle

since all i was able to work during school was second shift, they've kept me there for the summer

i wake up around noon or 1, go to work at 2:30, come home or go out at 9:30 and and i'm usually up til 4 or 5...it's 3 am and i might yet go watch a movie

I don't know what it was; had alot of friends who loved them, and one band I was in wanted to cover a couple of their songs. I like Dinosaur Jr's version of "Just Like Heaven", though..

They were the most accessable to me at the time. A friend's older sister listened to them and I got hooked through her.
You have to remember that I had just moved to rural MO at the age of 13-that critical time of music development for many of us. Maybe if I had been introduced to The Smiths first I would prefer them. As it stands now, I can equally enjoy them both. And I used to like Dinosaur Jr too.

Small towns that tend to only play country music limits your music selection. You take what you get and you never forget who influenced your music choices. Even after you hear better you tend to swear loyality to the band that brought you there.
