Anyone here have an iPod mini?

Bought one for my husband for his birthday and we are having some problems getting it up and going. It is taking forever for the first set of songs to transfer over--granted, it about 100--how long does it normally take?

1. I have an iPod Shuffle -

haven't had any problems with it. Are you using the iTunes software to transfer the music? It shouldn't take very long.

2. Depends on what you mean.

If you're talking about converting existing music files to the iPod format, yeah, it'll take a little while. If you mean just transferring legit files to the iPod, shouldn't take more than a minute.

I would ask, however, how old is your computer? You might have not have a USB 2.0 connection if it's an older machine. You can get a USB 2.0 card to put into it for very cheap, however, so it's a simple fix.

3. Thanks for the responses

Turns on that the software in the package--dated 2/05--was outdated and he had to download different software. It appears to be working now.
