Poll question: Town in W. Yorks. How do you pronouce Pontefract?
Really bad copycat I know - but a good test of ante-delluvian English R.P.

If you want to know more about this charming town in the north of England go to http://www.pontefract-online.co.uk/

5. HAHAHAHA
We only do it to confuse Americans and Frenchies; when we're alone we pronounce them in a perfectly normal manner.

We're ready to do a deal - once you change the name of Massa..... so that it is reasonable to spell and to pronouce we'll stop holding our place-names hostage.

6. From W. Yorkshire to Texas via Australia
Quite some trek. It's astonishing - though sometimes concerningly so - what one finds here.
