How do you edit system.ini? |

Something called turbovcd.vxd (a driver for an unused modem) is preventing Windows 98 from loading. The computer says it is located in system.ini.

1. Click on start, then on run, then type sysedit and click OK |
|
This will bring up all your system editable file ssuch as sytem.ini, autoexec.bat, etc.
Simply edit that file and get rid of the section regarding the turbovcd.vxd
You might have to boot in safe mode to do so.

look for the line and Comment it out by putting this ; in front of the line.
You must have a really old computer to still be loading 16 bit drivers!
