1. That's a tough one
You used to be able to download Systems 1-5 out on the net, but Apple cracked down on all that years ago (grr...).

Here's some links that might help, or might provide passage to other more fruitful links:

http://www.mackido.com/History/EarlyMacOS.html
http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/system_6_heaven.html

I know that you can grab System 6.0.x on Apple's website:
http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Older_System/System_6.0.x/

I'm not sure that those will run on an original 1984 Mac, though.

Here's a fun page if you actually want to use that old Mac:
Old Macs in an OS X environment

You could also try writing Apple. It couldn't hurt.

3. Systems 4 to 6
will run on it.
Try your hometown Apple Club, they usually have archieved all the operating systems. I know they have in ABQ.

2. Well, dBUG in Seattle,
originally the "Downtown Business User's Group", has a huge library of SW. I don't know if you'd have to join to gain use of it, or maybe someone here at DU is already a member and would do you the favor of borrowing it for you...
Now that I think about it, you could probably DL it somewhere. Maybe from Apple?
